{PHOTO TAKING TIPS}
Cell phone photos work great using the following tips:
- Place recipe on a well lit, flat surface to take photo. The very best spots are near a window on a nice sunny day.
- Avoid shadows on the recipe as much as possible. A good tip for eliminating shadows is to take the photo from a bit farther away using the zoom on your camera.
- If writing is faded or not legible, make a photocopy of the recipe (you can also take a photo of the recipe then print), and trace over the writing with dark ink
- Make sure picture or scan is clear, bright, and not blurry
- For recipes with lines, the lines will be removed from the recipe, unless you note that you prefer otherwise.
- Recipe cards with drawings or images will have image removed, unless otherwise requested.
Recipes are one of the trickiest handwriting samples to work with. I will do my BEST to work with your images. I will contact you with any questions or issues with recipe editing via email.
Once we have gotten your recipe, it will be edited to crisp black and white (for engraving), and you will be emailed a proof of the edited recipe along with a digital mockup of your recipe on the board you've chosen. Please approve proofs as quickly as possible so that your order is not delayed in production.
PLEASE NOTE: These are natural wood boards. All wood can have a bit of color variation, so coloring, grain, knots, etc. are all unique from one board to the next and some variation between boards is to be expected. Engravings can be lighter and darker depending on the shade of the wood.
